 Langy looks for reprieve

Langy looks for reprieve

2/09/2008 3:19:00 PM
LANGWARRIN Soccer Club must win this Saturday's home fixture against Westgate to stave off relegation from State League division 1. Langy defeated Kingston City 2-0 on Saturday to put it ahead of Springvale White Eagles, who were trounced 5-1 by Dandenong Thunder.

Pines lost its final match of the season 2-1 to Coburg on Thursday night to finish bottom, guaranteeing it will line up in the State League division 1. Therefore, if Langy wins there will be a Frankston derby in the 2009 competition.

Premier League finals took place over the weekend in a back-down by the so-called rebel group which had threatened to boycott the finals.

The outcome is likely to further weaken its position within the federation and marks a significant victory for CEO Mark Rendell.
